Ed was the BMI Songwriter of the Year in 2006. He has received dozens of BMI awards, nominated twice by The Academy of Country Music in the “Piano Player of the Year” category and was a member of the Grammy Award-winning Urban Cowboy Band. He was nominated for The Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2018 and 2019. Especially meaningful are the five Nashville Songwriters Association International Awards he received for “Songs I Wish I Had Written,” as these awards are voted on by his songwriting peers in the industry.
